BUSINESSMAN STUCK IN COSTA RICA AFTER FLESH-EATING BACTERIA INFECTED HIS GENITALS
A British businessman is stuck in Costa Rica after his genitals were infected by a flesh-eating bacteria. Need to hear more? Really? OK – Colin Graw, 47, was in Costa Rica to pursue a business opportunity, underwent a minor medical procedure and was discharged the same day, but soon developed intense pain. Four days later, doctors told him he was suffering from necrotising fasciitis, a rare but serious flesh-eating bacterial infection that affects the tissue under the skin and surrounding muscles and organs. Making matters worse, he contracted Fournier’s gangrene, a form of necrotizing fasciitis that affects the scrotum and penis. Graw underwent grueling surgeries to remove the infected tissues and was left with multiple wounds and intense pain. He has been put on antibiotics to fight off the flesh-eating disease but is susceptible to more infections and goes to the hospital three times a week to prevent them.
* He should have gone to San Francisco. You only leave your heart in San Francisco.
* If you’re a businessman in Costa Rica, they’re all up in your business.
* Gee, he finds the one clinic in Costa Rica where they don’t wash the instruments.
* Fournier’s gangrene? Yeah, if I discovered a flesh-eating bacterial infection that affects the scrotum and penis, I’m not sure I’d want to stick my name on it.
* Fournier published his discovery and then couldn’t get another date to save his life.
* Remember this story next time you think you’re having a bad day.
