BRITISH STUDENT VISITS AFGHANISTAN JUST IN TIME FOR THE YOU-KNOW-WHAT

You heard about the student who traveled to Afghanistan last week just before the US withdrawal? Miles Routledge, 21, says he picked Afghanistan to travel to after doing a Google search for “most dangerous countries to visit.” He got there Friday even though he was aware of the Taliban’s insurgency. He said he hates lying around on a beach and wanted to do something a little bit different, and said that Afghanistan “looked quite nice, the food seemed amazing, and it was dirt cheap.” He believed the country wouldn’t fall for another month. He managed to make it out on a packed military plane. Routledge, a student at Loughborough University, said he likes risk, and had previously been to Chernobyl in Russia, and also hopes to visit North Korea.
* You see, that’s the difference. Americans who like risk go to Las Vegas.
* Yeah, we were a little surprised at how fast Afghanistan fell apart, too.
* He flipped a coin and got Afghanistan. The other choice was Haiti.
* Good to see that Loughborough University education paying off.
