BRITISH MAN JAILED FOR CARRYING SHARPIES
A British man was thrown in jail for breaching his probation after he was caught with two Sharpie markers. Lloyd Griffiths, 22, was found with two Sharpie pens, one tucked in his waistband, and a small amount of cannabis on October 10. Back in 2019, Griffiths upset locals and business owners in the town of Peterborough by causing ‘prolific’ damage with magic markers. At the time, he was given a five-year order barring him from carrying materials that can cause criminal damage in a public place. Griffiths insisted he wasn’t planning on using the two Sharpies found on him this week. In fact, he claimed to have been “given them by a friend.” But he was jailed for 18 weeks for breaching his Criminal Behaviour Order.
* “No, man, these aren’t mine. I’m just holding them for a friend who needs to address a package later.”
* He was busted for carrying magic markers, and now he’s in the pen.
* Just another young man trying to make his mark.
* He told the court he’s been trying to taper off the hard markers, by switching to highlighters and sidewalk chalk.
* Have they tried letting him get his kicks with dry-erase boards?
* And yet Banksy still walks around a free man.
