BELGIAN BURGER KING WANTS A MICHELIN STAR

It’s one of the greatest honors in the restaurant business to receive a star from the Michelin Guide. Typically, these stars are awarded to high-end restaurants, but the Burger King chain in Belgium is hoping to change that. The company has launched a social media and advertising campaign targeted at earning a Michelin star, in addition to promoting its Master Angus burger. On Twitter, Burger King Belgium wrote, “We want… no, we need… no, we DESERVE a Michelin star for our Master Angus! Sign this petition and help us get one!” Michelin has noticed the campaign and will, in fact, be tasting and rating Burger King’s Master Angus burger, Ad Week reports. The Michelin Guide will be rating the chain on various aspects, including the quality of the product, the mastery of the cooking technique, the harmony of flavors, the personality of the chef and consistency between visits. An announcement will be made by November. If Burger King Belgium earns a Michelin Star, it will be the first Burger King to do so.
* Be sure to watch the skies, because it will also be the first time pigs fly.
* They deserve a Michelin star because their burgers can also be used as car tires.
* Come to think of it, the Michelin Man looks like he’s put away his fair share of burgers.
* I, for one, welcome our new Angus Masters.
