BEEEEER IIIINN SPAAAAAACEEEE
Budweiser is launching two barley experiments to the International Space Station in December, the first step the company is taking toward becoming the first beer brewed in space. The idea is that anyone living on Mars should be able to have access to beer. Barley is a key ingredient to creating the malt necessary for beer production. The experiments are meant to study how the barley seeds react in an anti-gravity environment. One will focus on barley seed exposure and the other will focus on barley seed germination.
* If they don’t call it Bud Lightbeer, I’ll be disappointed.
* Good luck, ’cause we are absolutely, positively NOT going to Mars without beer.
* On the other hand, you can see why this whole Mars thing is taking so long. Lots of critical components still need work.
* Who will be the first human charged with AUI – Astronauting Under the Influence.
* If all goes well, the first Earthling on Mars will be Spuds McKenzie.
