AUSTRALIAN OLYMPIC HORSE JUMPER TESTS POSITIVE FOR COCAINE
Showjumper Jamie Kermond was kicked off the Australian Olympic team Wednesday after testing positive for cocaine. The 36-year-old rider returned a positive sample on June 26, with the result only made public Wednesday. He said it was likely “the positive result was from a single recreational use of the drug at a social event and had no connection with my sport of equestrian.” Kermond apologized and accepted full responsibility, saying, “I am truly sorry as I have let a lot of people down including my family and teammates.”
* The only thing worse than a positive cocaine test is a positive COVID test.
* The first hint was when he cleared all 12 jumps, but his horse was still back at the starting line.
* I’m no fan of drugs, but I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that maybe his cocaine use doesn’t really affect the performance of the horse underneath him.
* Does cocaine make you stay on the horse better?
