AUDIO: WHAT MARS SOUNDS LIKE

NASA has release audio of the sound of wind blowing across the InSight Martian Lander, which landed on Mars last week. The wind was blowing across the lander’s solar panels, causing small movements. The recordings of these movements are in the audible range of human hearing. They’re very low – at sub-woofer level – so they have been pitched up two octaves. An air pressure sensor also recorded the sounds of the winds – these are the higher pitched sounds. These are the first sounds of Mars to be heard on Earth.
* Since the invasion, they mean.
* Was that a fart?
* I’m waiting for some Pink Floyd music to start playing.
* Thanks, NASA. Worth every hundred million!
* It’s official. Mars blows.
