AUDIO: THE WINNER OF THE $758 MILLION POWERBALL
The winner of the $758.7 million Powerball jackpot has come forward to claim the prize. Mavis Wanczyk, 53, is a mother of two children: a 31-year-old daughter and a 26-year-old son. Mavis has worked at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield for the past 32 years, but not any longer. The first thing she did was quit. The ticket was purchased at store in Chicopee (* See clip below!), Massachusetts. It’s the largest grand prize won by a single lottery ticket in U.S. history.
* “Finally, I can afford to live in Massachusetts,” Mavis said.
* Gee, I never imagined I’d fall in love with a woman named Mavis.
* It’s actually a pretty lame jackpot considering we spend $70 billion on lottery tickets every year.
* And remember, after taxes it’s only going to be about $360 million, so she might want to re-think quitting that job.
* A 31-year-old daughter, a 26-year-old son, and suddenly more distant relatives than she ever knew she had.
