AUDIO: SURVEY: TWO-THIRDS OF AMERICANS THINK THEY COULD LIVE OFF THE LAND
A new survey by Tractor Supply Company asked 2,000 US residents from a mix of cities, suburbs and rural areas how they would fare if grocery stores suddenly shut down.
– Two-thirds of surveyed Americans are confident they could “live off the land” if all other options have failed.
– One-third think they could last over a year self sufficiently. (* Ooo, over a whole year! That’s livin’!)
– City folks were the most confident in their farming ability. 72% of urban and suburbanites felt they’d be fine, whereas just 62% of rural residents felt they’d be okay.
* This is good information to have, before the coming zombie apocalypse.
* This is why hippie communes have always been such a big success.
* People told the survey takers they could “live off the land” but secretly what they plan to do is just steal stuff.
* Have these city folk ever actually looked at the organic food section of Whole Foods? Have they seen what home-grown, organic food looks like? And that’s from the farmers who KNOW what they’re doing.
* Why is this survey coming out now? Is there something they’re not telling us?
