AUDIO: SOYLENT TO BE SOLD IN WALMART
Soylent, the nutritional powdered drink (* that’s NOT people, according to the label) that’s being sold as a substitute for a meal, is now available at Walmart. Previously only available online, Soylent’s maker, Rosa Foods, has signed a deal to get the product in 450 Walmarts across the US. Walmart will stock the ready-to-drink bottled version in “Cacao,” “Vanilla Latte,” and “Coffiest” flavors. Soylent is creamy, with a texture similar to whole milk or cream, with a very mild if not bland flavor, similar to a protein shake. Many people compare the taste of original Soylent to “cereal milk” – the taste of milk after you’ve eaten all the cereal. It’s also been compared to licking stamps and old refrigerated oatmeal.
* Jeeze, don’t oversell it.
* What I’m hearing is, you’re gonna want to add some chocolate ice cream.
* You know how all those health nuts are always shopping at Walmart, so this should be a big seller.
