AUDIO: REPORTER PLAYS POKEMON GO DURING STATE DEPARTMENT BRIEFING

State Department spokesman John Kirby was delivering a statement on ISIS last week when he noticed a reporter playing Pokémon Go. “You’re playing that Pokémon thing right now, aren’t you?” Kirby said. The reporter answered honestly. “I’m just keeping an eye on it,” he said, later admitting that the wi-fi wasn’t strong enough to make any catches.
* Reporters – this is how we get Trumps! You have to pay attention!
* How old is the reporter? Eleven?
* Maybe he was covering the speech for Boys Life magazine.
* This is a hint to John Kirby to make his statements on global terrorism a little more interesting.
* By the way, when Tiffany Trump was addressing the Republican Convention, I could swear she kept glancing at her phone.
* “I’m just keeping an eye on it”? Okay, but I thought you were keeping an eye on the politicians.
* This is where it’s a good thing I’m not the boss.
* Notice how they don’t give the reporter’s name? I know that can’t be professional courtesy. There’s nothing professional about this.
* If I were boss, I’d say, “Johnson, you’re going to have a lot more time to play Pokemon now.”
* “Your next assignment is to get lost.”
