AUDIO: PANERA BREAD CHALLENGES FAST FOOD CEO'S TO EAT OFF THEIR CHILDREN'S MENUS

The Panera Bread restaurant chain has come out with a new promotion. In a new video, Panera’s founder and CEO Ron Shaich (pronounced “shake”) has issued a challenge to the CEOs of McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King, daring them to eat every breakfast, lunch, and dinner from their own restaurant’s kids’ menu for seven days. Shaich says, “I want to say to them, would you really eat your own kids’ meals for a week? Would you really order it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, three meals a day for seven days? What do you think the nutritional content of that food you’d be eating is?” he continues. “Do you feel good about that? And, if you don’t feel good about it, why would you serve it to kids?” Shaich believes marketing to kids should be off limits, 100%. “We should not be selling to kids using cartoon characters, and we shouldn’t be bringing them in on the gimmicks and the toys.”
* Pretty strong nutritional words from a man named Schaich.
* “Come on, kids, we’re all going for avocado and kale on whole wheat sandwiches!” “Yayyy!”
* How can the CEOs of McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King boost profits if they’re in the hospital with clogged arteries?
* Anyway, you aren’t supposed to eat McDonald’s for breakfast, lunch and dinner. McDonald’s is there so Americans can have something to eat BETWEEN breakfast, lunch and dinner.
* At least KFC and Sonic dodged a bullet.
