AUDIO: NASA RELEASES SPOOKY SOUNDS OF OUR UNIVERSE
In honor of Halloween, NASA has released a bunch of converted sound files showing off the interplanetary sounds of our cosmos. The playlist includes radar echoes, plasma waves, and even dust smacking into a comet. Some of the things you’ll be hearing:
– Space probe Juno Entering Jupiter’s Magnetosphere
– Kepler: Star Light Curve Waves
– Lightning on Jupiter
– Stardust: Passing Comet Tempel 1
– Voyager: Interstellar Plasma Sounds
– Cassini: Saturn Radio Emissions
– Plasmapheric Hiss
– Whistler Waves
– Jupiter Sounds
* Wow… Space, man….
* King Crimson did this stuff in the 60’s.
* It’s like that junk between songs on Steve Miller Band’s “Book of Dreams” album.
* Those low-pitched noises that sound like farts are from Uranus.
* Hey, NASA – don’t quit your day job.
CLIP: A couple of minutes of NASA space noise.
