AUDIO: KID PLAYS HOOKY FOR OPENING DAY AT THE CUBS; MEETS PRINCIPAL AT THE GAME

Tucker Speckman, a fourth-grader at Wells Elementary School in East Moline, Illinois, played hooky from school so he and his parents could attend the Chicago Cubs’ home opener at Wrigley Field. Outside the stadium, Tucker tweeted a photo of himself holding a sign that said, “Skipping school… Shhh. Don’t tell Principal Versluis.” Well… who should Tucker run into at the game but Principal Versluis and his kid, who also played hooky. Principal Versluis said that Tucker is a great kid and his ditching school doesn’t bother him. “I thought the sign was hilarious,” Versluis said.
* With that attitude, there won’t be any kids in school during the next home game.
* A principal with no principles.
* And afterwards, Tucker marched in a parade and went out to lunch at a fancy restaurant. (See “Bueller” clip below)
* Really, who knew “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” was a documentary?
* Principal Versluis had to get back for some emergency meeting with the Superintendant or something.
* I thought Versluis was that volcano that killed everybody in Pompeii?
* CLIP: Principal Rooney says, “Bueller!”
