Reddit asked, “What breed of dog protected you from a real threat?” Some of the answers:
– “My German shepherd protected me from an intruder during a break-in.”
– “My dachshund stopped my brother and I from approaching a coral snake when we were 4 & 6. She kept charging us while barking and growling and pushed me down before going and barking at the snake until my parents got there.”
– “One evening, a man came to the door. My golden retriever was first to greet him, wagging all over, happy to meet a new friend. The man asked if my husband was home. My dog went nuts. Growling, barking, lunging at the door. That dude turned and ran. I never saw him again. And my dog never acted that way again.”
– “Our boxer woke up my parents by barking at the stove, which was left on and almost caught fire.”
– “Intruders in our house locked the dogs in the kitchen so they could rob the house. But our Dutch shepherd knew how to open doors, came upstairs and woke everyone up by licking our faces.
