AUDIO: ARE YOU AN INVENTOR?
More than half of Americans say they have a business idea they think would be a big success. A survey of 2,000 adults from something called Thinkific (* maybe they should have given that name one more think-through.) finds that:
– 59% have considered quitting their current job to launch their own business.
– The most popular type of business that people aspire to launch is… anybody? anybody?… a PODCAST. 51% think they have an idea for a money-making podcast. (* That is so 2005!)
– 49% want to sell products online.
– 39% think they have an idea for a money-making brick-and-mortar store.
– More than half of those surveyed – 54% – claim they’ve learned most of what they know about business online.
* Oh, man, this economy is so screwed.
* Good to know the Gross National Product is determined by a headline that says “You Won’t Believe This One Easy Trick For Making Money.”
* If only there was a website where that 49% of people could sell their products online.
* I have an idea for a podcast. It’s a couple of guys, sitting around talking in the morning, and they play some songs, maybe tell you what the weather’s going to be today. Maybe once in awhile they’d tell you about a new survey they just heard about. But the gimmick is – get this – you can listen to it anywhere you are.
