ANGRY WOMAN DRIVES CAR THROUGH SAFEWAY SUPERMARKET

A disgruntled customer drove her SUV into the Safeway grocery store in Springfield, Oregon, just after midnight on Wednesday. The incident began at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, when Noella Fay, 43, attempted to purchase $2,200 worth of gift cards. When her check did not clear she became enraged. She left but returned later Tuesday night, around midnight, parking just feet away from the doors of the store. According to authorities, an employee told her to move the vehicle and she began yelling about wanting the gift cards. She then crashed her 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe through the west doors. Police said Fay then drove down an aisle to the back of the store, reversed the car to the head of the aisle and then drove behind the registers toward the deli. (* What a moron! Gift cards are at the customer service desk!) She eventually drove her car out of the store, exiting through the east doors, and sped off. At the time of the incident there were four employees and two customers in the store near the front doors but no one was injured. Authorities said the vehicle was found abandoned. Fay was later arrested at her home in Glenwood. She faces charges of reckless endangering, hit-and-run, reckless driving, and criminal mischief.
* Also, taking more than 10 items through the express lane.
* “Cleanup, aisle everything.”
* That’s not the Safeway to shop!
* We’ve had a lot of stories this year about “drive-thru rage”, but this is the first one with actual “driving through” a store.
* Anybody see this scene in the Blues Brothers movie?
* Wasn’t it Belushi who said, “They’ve got everything here.”
