AMERICA’S RUDEST CITIES
A travel company called Preply surveyed over 1,500 residents of the 30 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. and asked them about the rudeness level of their city, to help travelers determine what to expect when visiting America. They asked respondents to rate the rudeness of the average resident of their city on a scale of one to ten.
Here are America’s Rudest Cities:
1. Philadelphia, with a rudeness score of 6.43 out of 10.
2. Memphis, 6.05
3. New York City, 6.0
4. Las Vegas, 5.98
5. Boston, 5.9
6. Detroit, 5.7
7. San Francisco, 6.59
8. Washington, D.C.. 5.56
9. Los Angeles, 5.35
10. Houston, 5.3
11. Phoenix, 5.2
12. Jacksonville, 5.18
13. Seattle, 5.14
14. Louisville, 5.12
The Most Polite Cities are Austin, TX (3.91), San Diego, CA (4.17), and Fort Worth, TX (4.20). The survey found that more polite cities seem to be concentrated in the southern, midwestern, and western parts of the United States, with a noticeable lack of Northeastern cities.
* Those jerks.
* We have this many rude cities? Eat your heart out, France.
* They’re lucky those 1,500 people have been to every single city, so they can easily compare.
* There’s less than a one-point difference between #1 and #14. It’s like the guy from Philadelphia hocked a loogie when he turned in the survey, and that made the difference.
* This really is no surprise. Philadelphia is the city that once booed Santa Claus, at an Eagles game in 1968.
