AIRPLANE FLIES TO ITALY, FINDS AIRPORT NOT OPEN
German low-cost airline Eurowings resumed flying on Saturday. One of their planes loaded up with passengers on Saturday and took off for a nearly five-hour flight from Düsseldorf to Sardinia, Italy. But after a couple of hours in the air, they learned the Sardinia airport was still closed for the pandemic. The pilot went into a holding pattern hoping for permission to land, but the airport would not open. The flight crew headed back to Düsseldorf, about four hours after they’d left.
* Ha ha – Düssel-dorks.
* Folks, you should really call ahead before just dropping in.
* What happened to that good ol’ German attention to detail?
* Maybe next time pack a lot of parachutes.
* I hope they at least got an in-flight snack along with their coronavirus.
