NEWEST ROBBERY TARGET: OZEMPIC
The newest target of thieves – Ozempic. Pharmacists in São Paulo, Brazil, are being robbed of their supplies of Ozempic, Wegovy and Saxenda, the injectable weight-loss drugs. A month’s supply of Ozempic goes for around $120 to $190 in Brazil, while the average monthly income in the country is about $300. Some pharmacies, repeat victims of Ozempic theft, have taken to posting armed guards near the back room, where the drugs are stored. There have been reports of break-ins at pharmacies elsewhere, such as Michigan and Spain, and some criminal gangs have been robbing trucks making wholesale Ozempic deliveries.
* The suspects are described as armed and lanky.
* So far, they’ve been able to trace the robberies to something called the Oprah Cartel.
* Armed guards. Take a shot at taking the shots and you might get shot.
* Will the demand for Ozempic ever taper off? Fat chance.
* Anyway, that’s the skinny from Brazil.
