HUMANS HAVE BEEN USING BEDS FOR 200,000 YEARS
According to a new study published in the journal Science, humans have been sleeping in beds for nearly as long as they’ve been roaming the earth. In South Africa’s world-renowned Border Cave excavation site, archaeologists uncovered evidence of grass sleeping mats that date back to 200,000 years ago — more than 100,000 years earlier than previously thought. The discovery demonstrates “cognitive, behavioral and social complexity” more commonly observed in much younger civilizations. The prehistoric beds were made of grass stacked atop ash from a fireplace or burned plants, which was presumably used to deter pests.
* They call this particular clan of early humans “REI Man.”
* It’s the world’s first Sleep Number bed, but it only went to point one-half.
* If humans are so smart, why did it take 200,000 years to come up with “My Pillow”?
* They also found the remains of small pig under the prehistoric sink, believed to be a prehistoric garbage disposal.
