WORKING FROM HOME HAS MADE WORKDAY 48 MINUTES LONGER

If you’re working from home during the pandemic, chances are you’re working longer days, a new study suggests. According to a study by researchers at Harvard Business School and New York University published by the National Bureau of Economic Research, the average workday has dragged on 48.5 minutes longer for people working at home.
– Employees working at home during the pandemic believe they need to perform even more since commute times are cut out, leading more workers to log on earlier than pre-COVID-19 days.
– Researchers found that the number of meetings people were joining via Zoom surged around 13 percent, though the meetings were shorter.
– Workers are also firing off 1.4 more emails each day to co-workers.
* Also, those YouTube videos aren’t going to watch themselves.
* And you have to schedule in extra “Who’s a good boy” time for your dog.
* Plus all the time you have to go back and correct your typing from your cat walking on the keyboard.
* The workday might be 48.5 minutes longer, but those three-hour lunches are sweet.
* Seriously, a survey calls and asks how hard you’re working. Do you say 1) “I’m working harder than ever before”, or 2) “I’m mostly goofing off”?
