VAN GOGH PAINTING STOLEN

A painting by Dutch master Vincent van Gogh was stolen in an overnight smash-and-grab raid on a museum that was closed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The Singer Laren museum east of Amsterdam said the painting, “The Parsonage Garden at Nuenen in Spring 1884” was taken in the early hours of Monday (* It was a starry, starry night). Police said the thief or thieves smashed a glass door to get into the museum. That set off an alarm that sent officers rushing to the museum but by the time they got there the painting and whoever stole it were gone. The value of the work was not immediately know. At a Monday press conference, the museum’s director, Jan Rudolph de Lorm, said, “I am extremely pissed off that this happened.”
* Jan Rudolph de Lorm – keepin’ it classy at the museum.
* Actually, he’s more pissed off that he didn’t spring for an on-premises security guard.
* van Gogh? More like van Gone, ammirite?
* There are plenty of van Goghs around, I’m sure they can find another.
