94-YEAR-OLD WOMAN HONORED FOR 44 YEARS AT MCDONALD'S
Loraine Maurer, at the age of 94, was honored last Thursday for more than four decades of work at McDonald’s restaurants around Evansville, Indiana. She currently works at the North Green River location. Dozens of people came to congratulate Maurer on 44 years of service with the company. Maurer currently works every Friday and Saturday during breakfast, but she goes into the restaurant almost everyday. “I get in here at 5 o’clock when they open. I have to get up at three,” Maurer said.
* It must freak everyone out on those days she doesn’t come in.
* They were going to wait until next year to celebrate her 45th year, but, come on, she’s 94.
* One more year and she gets that quarter-an-hour raise.
* She needs the extra two hours in the morning to walk the six miles to work.
* Her most memorable day at McDonald’s? The one they call “Deep-Fried Dentures Tuesday”
* Looking at it another way, she was 50 before she landed a steady job.
* How old is she? Let’s put it this way: Her first name tag was written on papyrus.
* When she started people would order burgers in Latin.
* She was there when the McDonald’s sign first hit “Over 100 Served.” Hey, I’m killin’ here!
* She goes to the restaurant almost everyday? I’m sorry but that’s just sad.
