93-YEAR-OLD GOLFER MAKES HOLE IN ONE, QUITS GOLF

Ben Bender of Zanesville, Ohio, has been playing golf since he was 28. Now, at the age of 93, he still gets out for a few holes now and then. Last month, he was out on Green Valley golf course. His hips were hurting, and he shot an 8 on hole number 1 and 7 on number 2. Then, on hole number 3, he used his 5-wood and made his very first hole-in-one. Bender only played a few more holes before walking into the clubhouse and telling the Green Valley manager that he was done – no more golf ever. Bender said: “I was in awe watching it. It seemed the Lord knew this was my last round so he gave me a hole-in-one.”
* The Lord is about to give him a larger hole in the ground.
* It was a sign from God. Or Arnold Palmer.
* I picture the Lord as more of a croquet guy.
* Quitting after 65 years? Where’s the commitment?
* It’s just as well. It was taking him three weeks to play 9 holes.
