270 ESCAPED PRISONERS RETURN VOLUNTARILY
A prison in Sorong city, Indonesia, went up in flames last week after protesters outside set the jail and other buildings ablaze. About half the prison’s 500 inmates fled the prison. But, said a prison spokesman, they weren’t trying to escape – they just wanted to save themselves from the fire. And then, all but a dozen returned to jail – even convicted murderers came back voluntarily. Said the spokesman, “We’ve always treated them well and they knew that running away was not a solution – it would only make things worse. I really appreciate their willingness to come back to prison.”
* So – no public caning, then?
* Also, you’re on an island. Where are you gonna go?
* It’s like when the ladies came back from swimming in the lake in “Orange Is The New Black”.
* Jailbirds flocking back to the nest.
* Where do they stay? In the patches of soot where their cells used to be?
* The city is named Sorong, as in, “Sorong, suckers!”
