WOMAN FINDS BIG DIAMOND AT STATE PARK THAT HAS LOTS OF DIAMONDS
A Colorado woman visiting Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas last Wednesday took only 20 minutes to find a diamond. Bobbie Oskarson unearthed an 8.52-carat white diamond, the fifth-largest diamond ever found by a visitor to the state park, where people can keep the diamonds that they find. The white diamond was about three-quarters of an inch long and as wide as a No. 2 pencil. Ms. Oskarson and her boyfriend saw the Crater of Diamonds State Park on an Arkansas highway map while in the nearby town of Hot Springs and decided to visit the park. It was hot and sunny at the park, but Ms. Oskarson was staying cool by searching in a tree-shaded area when she found her diamond. Oskarson discovered the diamond in a couple of scoops of dirt dug in an area known as the Pig Pen because it is the muddiest part of the search area after a good rain. A spokeswoman at the park didn’t know how much the diamond was worth, saying they’d have to take it to a jeweler to find out.
* Well, I don’t know about you, but that firms up my summer vacation plans.
* If this happens to you, don’t scream. The guy across from you has been digging for 17 years.
* She also found a half a pound of yummy truffles.
* Then she hit a hard object that turned out to be a pirate treasure chest.
* On the way out of the park, she spotted the big diamond that old lady threw off the Titanic.
* Then her rear tire started to spin and she struck oil.
* I’ve known women like this. They can find a jewelry store in any mall in America.
* And it doesn’t take them 20 minutes either.
* I appreciate this woman not saying how much it’s worth. It makes it easier not to hate her.
* She found it in a place called Pig Pen? So you CAN make a silk purse from a sow’s ear.
