UBER TAKES OFF WITH WOMAN’S SLEEPING TODDLER
A Canadian mom claims an Uber driver accidentally drove off with her daughter still in the vehicle — and the company refused to help. Toronto native Julia Viscomi was in an Uber with her five-year-old daughter Amelia, along with three other children and an adult. It was 11 p.m. and her daughter fell asleep in the back of the car. Due to the seating arrangement, the other passengers were blocking her daughter from the doors, and Viscomi had to wait for everyone else to get out so she could retrieve her. Viscomi says she shared her intentions loudly so the driver could hear her. But before she could reach back in and get her daughter, the driver took off. Horrified, she first tried contacting the Uber driver, but they couldn’t be reached. She then reached out to Uber but they refused to contact the driver. She ended up calling the cops, who managed to track down the vehicle an hour later. To make matters worse, Uber refused to make amends and simply offered her an automated $10 credit for her trouble.
* I bet this makes next year’s list of “Crazy Things People Left In An Uber.”
* Yet another good reason to put AirTags on your kids.
* Meanwhile the daughter was thinking “I almost got away from them!”
* This story is shocking! A five-year-old without a cell phone???
