TSA FLAGS TRANSGENDER WOMAN FOR HAVING PENIS
At Orlando International Airport, Shadi Petosky was rushing to make her flight to Minneapolis Monday night when she was stopped by TSA agents due to an “anomaly” that appeared in her full-body scan – which was calibrated for a woman. “That’s my penis,” she bluntly told a male TSA agent, explaining that she was transgender. Additional agents questioned her gender and pulled her aside for a 40-minute pat-down, inspection and explosive material scare, all of which made her miss her flight. The TSA agent reportedly asked Petosky to go back through the scanner under the male calibration, but she refused and then declined to say whether she was a man or a woman. Petosky, a television producer, repeatedly asked the TSA agents if they were properly trained with a transgender policy, but heard only one response: “I know what I am doing.” “I’m embarrassed about it,” Petosky told the Daily News from a hotel in Miami. “It is just a coincidence that I got a pat down for my genitals, then I had the worst agent and then I tested positive for explosives,” Petosky added. Officials eventually cleared Petosky to cross the security checkpoint, leaving her to rebook her travel arrangements.
* Well, they do have the right to check all packages.
* “Is that a penis, or are you just glad to see me?” Wait – that doesn’t work, does it?
* Look, we’re all trying to be understanding, but come on. If you look like a woman, it’s reasonable not to expect a penis hanging down.
* If that makes me politically incorrect then, I’m fine with it.
* If only everyone’s most personal lives could be as globally shoved down our throats as Caitlyn Jenner’s.
* This is where it’d be helpful if you told someone before the scan. Sort of take the surprise element out of it.
* Unless of course, you thrive on the hassle of it all – and I’m sure that does happen.
* The really embarrassing ones are when it IS a guy and they say, “We scanned your body. So you’re a lesbian cross-dresser then?”
* Boy, “The Crying Game” sure seems dated, no?
