TREASURE HUNTERS FIND LEGENDARY SUNKEN WHISKEY
A group of treasure hunters searching a lake in Ontario, Canada, were successful in finding a bottle of whiskey that has been in the lake since 1964. In the Legend of Otter Lake, a crate of whiskey was lost when a guy crashed his boat into a dock in 1964. Ontarian Dieter Mueller said he had found a stash of underwater bottles while swimming once at the lake in the 1960s, but he was unable to reach them. After all these years, Mueller returned to search the lake on July 15 with a friend and a diving expert. The group was getting ready to pack it up for the day when the diver found three bottles underwater, and one was still sealed and intact. They spotted more bottles buried under debris at the bottom of the lake and they are planning to return to see if they can find more that remain sealed. The whiskey was produced by the Gooderham & Worts distillery which first produced whisky in 1837, but closed in 1990.
* It’s not often you can celebrate your find with the thing that you found.
* Not only is the whiskey still good, they also get a nickle for every empty bottle.
* It’s only been 60 years, what’s the rush, fellas?
* Why do I have “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” going through my head?
* The “Legend of Otter Lake” is a pretty fancy name for a drunk guy crashing his boat full of booze.
