SURVEY: WE’RE MORE SENSITIVE TO NOISE SINCE THE PANDEMIC
More than half of Americans (* well, more than 1,000 anyway) say they’ve become more sensitive to noise since the pandemic started. A survey of 2,003 Americans about their hearing, conducted by Loop Earplugs, finds that more than 40% have become more sensitive to noise since the pandemic began in early 2020.
– Some respondents say that they spend, on average, more than four hours a week wearing headphones without actually listening to music.
– The two most annoying sounds: Loud phone conversations and loud chewing.
* Personally, I hate talking on the phone to people who are chewing loudly.
* I believe the Corn Nuts company would like to make a rebuttal with regards to loud chewing.
* Followed by a rebuttal of that rebuttal by Twizzlers.
* The aversion to noise must be from sitting home watching cable news all day.
