SURVEY: CANADIANS ARE RUDER THAN AMERICANS ON AIRPLANES

A new survey from Expedia looking at travel etiquette ranked each nationality in terms of their travel manners. It turns out that Canadians are ruder than Americans when it comes to air travel:
– Nearly 50 percent of Americans are willing to change their seats, the most out of all the countries ranked by the travel company. Meanwhile, only a third of Canadians surveyed would consider swapping seats so families can sit together.
– Fussy baby? 21 percent of U.S. travelers have helped entertain someone else’s kid. Just 14 percent of Canadians said they’ve done the same.
– About half the time, someone from the U.S. will help another traveler lift their luggage into an overhead bin, the most of any other country surveyed.
– 45% of Americans believe politely speaking with a seat kicker is the best way to address this annoyance, and another 16% wouldn’t even do anything because they assume it’s not intentional.
– Among all the countries surveyed, 45% of passengers would directly ask a seat mate to stop hogging the armrest, while only 35% of Americans would take this course of action.
In addition, the survey found Americans’ Top Five Most Annoying Flight Passengers:
– The Germ Spreading Sick Person (40%)
– The Seat Kicker/Grabber (36%)
– The Drunk Passenger (35%)
– The Aromatic Passenger (32%)
– The Inattentive Parent (30%)
* Guess what the Canadians said in response to this survey? “Soory.”
* You’d be cranky too if your Dollar was only worth 75 U.S. cents.
* If a Canadian refuses to swap seats so your family can sit together, fart during the flight like The Aromatic Passenger.
* They must have only surveyed Canadians from Toronto. (Or Vancouver. Those two seem to be the internet consensus for rudest Canadians.)
