STUDY: FIDGETING MAKES OTHERS UNCOMFORTABLE

Researchers from the University of British Columbia report that up to one-third of the population is easily irritated by fidgeting. Misokinesia is a condition where you have a strong negative emotional response to viewing someone else’s small and repetitive movements. The study looked at 4,100 people who described how they feel when they see others fidgeting. They found that roughly one in three adults are “sensitive” to others’ fidgeting and experience reactions such as anger, anxiety or frustration watching it. They also reported difficulty and reduced enjoyment in social situations, work and learning environments when somebody was fidgeting. The study is published in Scientific Reports.
* The study was performed at the Psycho-Neurotic Institute for the Very, Very Nervous.
* This must be why that “fidget spinner” fad died out. Too many fistfights.
* You want to know about fidgeting, talk to a couple of second grade teachers.
* They could have saved a lot of money by just riding around in a public bus for a couple of hours.
* This study sounds kind of jerky.
