STUDY: 4-DAY WORKWEEK IS JUST AS PRODUCTIVE AS A 5-DAY WORKWEEK
According to a study in Britain, companies participating in a four-day workweek pilot program said they had seen no loss of productivity during the experiment, and in some cases had seen a significant improvement. Nearly halfway into the six-month trial, in which employees get a paid day off weekly:
– All but two of 41 companies said productivity was either the same or had improved.
– Six companies said productivity had significantly improved.
– 35 of the 41 companies in the study said they were “likely” or “extremely likely” to consider continuing the four-day workweek beyond the end of the trial in late November.
* Well then give them the whole week off and productivity will go through the roof!
* The only way this can possibly be true is if all of your workers are slackers and wasting two hours a day. Fire your middle managers!
* Gee, with a four-day workweek you’d have an extra day at home to get chores done! (Pause) Oh, crap!
* Next week, I’m taking off Friday. I’m not going to do the show on Friday. But I’ll make it up by doing a 5-hours worth of work in a 4-hour period Monday thru Thursday.
* Maybe a 4-day workweek is what Putin needs to improve morale in the Russian army.
