SOUTH KOREA TURNS DOWN THE MUSIC

South Korea has halted its loudspeaker propaganda broadcasts directed at North Korea in an effort to improve relations. The decision comes just a week after President Lee Jae-myung’s election, which was won partly on his promises to ease tensions with the North. The broadcasts were a response to North Korea’s campaign of floating garbage-filled balloons into the South. The loudspeakers had broadcast news from both Koreas, updates on democracy, and details about living in South Korea — content considered provocative by North Korea. They also blasted out K-pop tunes…

* Now the North Koreans who started liking the music have to be rounded up and deprogrammed.
