SECOND GRADER: “I HATE MY MOM’S PHONE”
A Louisiana teacher named Jen Adams Beason had her second grade students write a short essay on the topic: “Tell me an invention that you don’t like. Why?” Here is one student’s answer:
“If I had to tell you what invention I don’t like, I would say that I don’t like the phone. I don’t like the phone because my parents are on their phone every day. A phone is sometimes a really bad habit. I hate my mom’s phone and I wish she never had one. That is an invention that I don’t like.” At the end of her Facebook post sharing a photo of the essay, Beason revealed that, out of 21 of her students, four of them wrote about cell phones. Beason added the hashtags #getoffyourphones and #listentoyourkids.
* She, of course, posted this to Facebook from her cell phone.
* Later, Apple picked up the four kids and took them to a re-education camp.
* Sorry, kids, but maybe you’re just not interesting enough.
* Save that essay and rub it in the kid’s face when they’re in 8th grade and get their own cell phone.
