SCIENTISTS CREATE MATTER WHICH IS NEITHER SOLID, LIQUID OR GAS

A bizarre new form of matter has been created by physicists and it’s not a solid, liquid or gas. Researchers in Scotland were able to turn potassium into a state that is both solid and liquid at the same time by putting it under intense atmospheric pressure and heating it between 260 to 980 degrees Fahrenheit. Study co-author Andreas Hermann described the substance like “holding a sponge filled with water that starts dripping out, except the sponge is also made of water.” The matter is made from an unusual state of potassium and could exist deep under the Earth’s crust where extremely hot conditions would enable it to remain in its unusual form. These findings could teach us more about the substances and matter which make up other planets in the universe.
* More importantly, can we market it to kids like Silly Putty or Slime?
* Scientists can’t figure out if they should keep it in a box, a bottle, or a balloon.
* A temperature between 260 to 980 degrees Fahrenheit? Must you be so specific?
* It’s discoveries like this that have made Scotland the scientific powerhouse it is today.
* A state of matter which is neither solid, liquid nor gas. Eating at Taco Bell produces the same result, and you don’t need some fancy-schmancy lab.
