MAN ESCAPES FORCED HOTEL QUARANTINE WITH BEDSHEET ROPE

A man in Perth, Australia, escaped mandatory quarantine in a hotel by scaling down a rope made of tied-together bedsheets from a fourth-floor window. The unnamed 39-year-old had arrived on a flight from Brisbane and tested negative for COVID but, because of tight travel rules in the country, he was told to leave the city within 48 hours. He was taken to a hotel for temporary quarantine, but just before 1:00 a.m. on Tuesday he escaped using the bedsheet-rope and fled the area. Police found and arrested the man across town about 8 hours later, charging him with failing to comply with a direction.
* He was also charged with second degree Felony Cliche.
* “I can’t help myself, officers – it’s the call of Brisbane!”
* Tuesday, one o’clock in the morning, and all alone in Brisbane. A fella could have a pretty good time in a town like that.
* And you just know, if they take him back to the hotel, they’re not going to give him clean bedsheets.
* Then he escaped again, through the air vents.
