IN THE YEAR 2065…
What do you think the future holds? A survey of 2,000 Americans from LevLane Advertising examined predictions for the next 40 years. Here is what people think will be happening 40 years from now:
– Retirement won’t be an option for most people in 40 years. 25% of respondents don’t believe retirement will be financially possible.
– Of people who don’t currently own a house, only 35% believe they’ll ever own property. A quarter (25%) expect to rent for life.
– Americans predicted the average home will cost $682,120 in 2065. That’s $272,020 more than today’s average.
– Survey respondents estimate people will work closer to 30 hours or four days per week by 2065.
– Twenty percent hope to travel the world and space.
– Society will be run by 100% digital currency. There will be biometric payment methods, like paying with a fingerprint or iris scan.
– Households will be managed by smart home AI.
– There will be robot roommates, housekeepers, and caregivers.
– People will have implanted health monitors.
* I don’t know about that, but I do know that “Grey’s Anatomy” will still be on, and nobody will still be watching it.
* Sounds like we’re going to solve the whole climate change thing – so that’s nice.
* And in 2065, we will be just 5 years from flying cars.
* And I believe that bottle of tomato chutney will still be in my refrigerator in the year 2065.
* “There will be robot roommates, housekeepers, and caregivers.” Uh, they forgot a category – unless “caregivers” means more than I think it does.
