AUDIO: NORTH KOREA OPENS BEACH RESORT

Kim Jong Un, Supreme Leader of North Korea, has unveiled his country’s new beach resort. It’s called Wonsan-Kalma, and it’s located in Kim’s hometown of Wonsan, on the country’s east coast. It’s on a 2.5 mile stretch of beach and can accommodate up to 20,000 visitors (* …who WILL BE HAPPY!). It is said to have water slides, hotels, restaurants and shopping centers, although none of those attractions have actually been verified by foreign press. State-run media said the resort will play a leading role in establishing the tourist culture of North Korea.
* Or else.
* This sounds suspiciously like the next season of White Lotus.
* Make sure you bring some sunscreen, a beach umbrella, and a mine detector.
* Wonsan-Kalma … Hold on … Hmm, not finding it on Trip Advisor … or Expedia … or Trivago …
* Oh – and the restaurants also ask that you bring some food for them to cook. Also, an explanation of what food is.
CLIP: Speaking of North Korea, we have an older “Best Korea Fireworks” 4th of July bit that is hilarious…at least it was before doing foreign accents became problematic. Here is the bit, it’s up to you if you want to run it.
