AUDIO: THE SINGING FELON

In a Michigan courtroom back on March 10th, Brian Earl Taylor, 21, was sentenced for unlawful imprisonment and carrying a concealed weapon. After the sentencing, Taylor was allowed to address the judge, Taylor broke into a song, apologizing for his actions. The melody seemed to be derived from the hit song “Hello” by Adele. “Hello there, your honor,” Taylor sang. “I want to say I’m sorry for the things I’ve done and I’ll try and be stronger in this life I chose, but I want you to know – that door, I closed. And your honor I’m sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.” Trial Court Judge Darlene O’Brien said Taylor was “obviously a talented young man” and she hopes he will take advantage of prison programs so he can reach his goals upon release.
* Then Adele’s lawyers called.
* Nice twist. Usually singing to the judge just means you have a plea agreement.
* Not that I would know anything about that.
* Don’t give Judge Judy any ideas.
* This guy is going to sound terrific in the prison showers.
* He had a concealed weapon all right and it’s his voice.
* The song sounded sort of like “Hello” but he changed the name to “Parole.”
* Should have gone with Engelbert Humperdinck’s “Please Release Me, Let Me Go.”
