SHARK FALLS FROM THE SKY
A 13-inch shark fell from the sky and landed in a family’s backyard in Virginia Beach, Virginia, last week. Sue Bowser says that her kids found the shark near a pond in their backyard. It was already dead and bloody with what she presumed were talon marks on its body. A scientist at the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center Foundation said the baby shark looked like a smooth dogfish shark, which reside in coastal waters nearby. It’s likely that an osprey or other large bird dropped its prey while flying overhead. Bowser is keeping it in a plastic bag in a freezer in the garage.
* What for? Weekend barbecue?
* When’s that Sharknado 3 movie again?
* That’s movie exaggeration for you. In reality, the most you can have flying through the air is ONE shark, and it’s a 13-inch baby.
* Bowser. Bet she didn’t get teased in junior high school.
* Then again, the shark got teased too for being called a dogfish.
* Just think. The shark will never get a chance to grow up and bite someone in half.
* It’s last thoughts were: “If I can just glide a little farther, I can make it to that pond!”
* How many times did its parents tell it: “Swim deeper. It’s dangerous on the surface.”
* Ah, yes, birds with talons. They’re sort of nature’s drones.
* If the dogfish shark was so smooth, how did it end up in a mess like this?
