WOMAN SUFFERS HAIRCUT DISASTER AT BEAUTY SCHOOL
Deborah Frazier of Philadelphia went to the Empire Beauty School just before Mother’s Day for a cut-and-style. She’d been going to Empire for years without a problem. She understood the trade-off: The price was cheap – 12 bucks – but it was a student doing the work. Deborah was looking for a pixie cut, short, but tapered. About midway through the cut, she asked for a mirror. The haircutter refused her request, saying she did not want to see it. Deborah says there were bare spots on her scalp. A supervisor rushed over with a container of dye, trying to ‘dye’ in the holes. Two other students attempted to fix the damage with their clippers, while other customers stopped and stared. Deborah said the student stylist started to cry. In the end, the school did not charge Deborah for the haircut and offered to give her a free cut next time in. However, Deborah won’t be going back.
* I think this all comes under the category of “Buyer Beware.”
* Short but tapered? I think once you hit bare skin you’ve gone past “tapered.”
* It was a “pixie cut” if the pixie happened to be attacked by hungry bats.
* This sounds like the haircut version of the executioner trainee in that other story.
* Relax, it’ll be fine in 3 to 6 months. Okay, maybe 8 months.
* Let’s be fair. The beauty school did offer her a complimentary paper bag.
* PHONE TOPIC: My haircut disaster.
