PASTEL EGG-LAYING HENS STOLEN BEFORE EASTER
A California farmer is searching for person or persons who stole his 300 specialty hens that lay unusual colored pastel eggs – shells that come in subtle shades of green, blue, rose and chocolate brown. Around March 8, Gerald Leuschen of Buddy’s Farm in Cotati, California, went to release his cooped chickens for the day when he noticed the fence was already unlocked and a few birds loitering outside. It wasn’t until about a week later, that the farmer realized his brood of special multicolored hens he calls “Easter Eggers” was much smaller than usual and egg production was way down. Counting the flocks, the farmer realized that about 300 birds were missing. Leuschen says the culprit must be “someone who knows what they’re doing and knows chickens.”
* The Chick-fil-A cows aren’t talkin’.
* And lets not call them colored eggs, use the term “eggs of color’. It’s more inclusive.
* Are you kidding me? We’re now to lazy to dye our own Easter Eggs?
* Green eggs: It’s the chicken’s tribute to Dr. Seuss.
* The shells are nice but I’m not so sure I’d want a blue omelet.
* We had stolen camels last week and now this. What is this Wacky Animal Theft Month?
* The fence was unlocked and a few chickens loitered outside? You’re free, you dummies. Make a break for it.
