STUPID WHALE GETS STUCK AGAIN

The young humpback whale that became stuck on a sandbar in the shallow bays off the Baltic coast of Germany last week, then was freed by rescuers, has become stuck again. Rescuers spent last week using dredging equipment and boats to dig out and guide the whale, named Timmy, back onto a long route to the Atlantic. There were brief glimmers of hope over the weekend, when the whale managed to free itself twice before running into difficulty again. Rescuers are now just hoping the whale will manage to make it out on its own. The whale was named after Timmendorfer Strand, the white sandy beach on Germany’s resort-filled Baltic coastline where it was first spotted stuck on a sandbar last Monday.
