SMELLING YOUR HUSBAND’S DIRTY SHIRTS WILL REDUCE STRESS

A new psychological study says smelling your partner’s dirty clothes will help you relieve stress. The study, published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and the American Psychological Association, revealed that women feel more at ease when smelling their male partner’s musk on a T-shirt. 96 women were instructed to smell one of three different scents. One scent was that of their partner, the other the scent of a stranger, and the third a neutral scent. Next, they were exposed to an acute stressor and their reactions were measured. Findings suggest that a partner’s scent alone, even without their physical presence, can be a powerful tool to help reduce stress.
