DOG OWNERS CAN’T STOP POSTING ABOUT THEIR DOG
According to a new study by BarkBox:
– On average, dog owners post a picture or talk about their dog on social media six times per week
– Dog owners watch dog videos or look at dog photos three times per week, on average
– One in ten dog owners have created a social media account for their pup
– 20 percent of the pictures dog owners take on their phone are of their dog – more than trips or vacations (15%), themselves (11%) or food (6%)
– 42% of dog people have made a photo of their dog the feature photo on their phone or computer desktop
There are a few reasons why people are so into posting pics of their pups, but one of the biggest is perhaps that most dog owners see their furry friends as legitimate members of the family, and look to represent them as such on social media.
* Plus, they’re the only members of the family who will never be a jerk to you.
* And, in some cases, they’re the most photogenic member of the family.
* To quote our current President, that’s just sad.
* Americans love their pets? Thanks, BarkBox, but we spend over $60 billion on our pets every year. We knew this already.
* Some owners set up an account for their dog, but many dogs prefer running their own Facebook page.
* Other dogs, their front toes are too big for our keyboards.
* Look, we follow these dogs around on walks, scooping up their poop. After that, posting about them is no big deal.
* You know what else is sad? When your dog de-friends you on Facebook.
* Some dogs are so obsessed with social media that they forget to lick themselves.
