APP REMINDS WOMEN TO STOP SAYING “I’M SORRY”
A new app is helping women to stop apologizing so often that they undermine their authority, particularly in the workplace. The “Just Not Sorry” app highlights each time a user types a key word or phrase such as “sorry,” “I think” or “I’m no expert” in email, said its creator Tami Reiss. Other red-flag words on the app include “just,” “actually,” “does this make sense?” and “try.” Reiss, 33, said she came up with “Just Not Sorry” after watching a skit by comedian Amy Schumer spoofing a panel of accomplished women, all of whom pepper their remarks with endless apologies.
* Yeah – Tami? You want to pick up Line 1? It’s Amy Schumer and she wants 50% of whatever you make.
* Never apologizing? My wife has been working on the prototype for this for years.
* Just a thought: We could be micromanaging our approach to apps.
* How about an app that tells you when you’ve designed a worthless app?
* “Just Not Sorry”? Sorry, I’m Just Not Interested.
* Sure, use this in the workplace and transform your image from apologetic mouse to callous bitch.
* Now there’s a similar app that helps men pretend they were listening.
* It gives you a little shock when it’s time to say, “Yes, dear.”
* Then every now and then you mix it up with, “You can say that again, dear.”
