GOOGLE ADDS “UNSEND” FEATURE TO GMAIL

After years of experimenting with it, Google announced that it was formally adding an “undo send” option for web-based Gmail users. The new tool allows users to choose a delay time from 5 to 30 seconds in case of a change of heart. You will have to enable the tool to use it. You can find the feature by clicking on the settings cog in Gmail and scrolling about midway through the general tab.
* Sounds simple enough, but that’s what I always think at first.
* In fact, I said the same thing about Google Chrome.
* They did this wrong. The delay time should correspond to how much you had to drink before you wrote the email.
* How about an option that makes your nasty email look like it came from someone else?
* I’ve got a tool you can enable right here for you.
* Whoops, too bad I couldn’t un-say that.
* There’s a lot to that phrase “undo send.” For just a little while, you can go back in time and get a second chance at life.
* The other headline about Google is how they’ve been secretly installing software on users’ browsers which is capable of listening in on conversations held in front of a computer. But I’m sure this “nice Google” story coming out just now is just a coincidence.
