1/4 OF PEOPLE WANT A BREAK FROM SEX
According to a new survey of 2,000 adults from LELO, a Swedish company that manufactures “adult” toys and products, 24% of Americans want a break from sexual activity. Half of those surveyed say they have already taken extended breaks averaging six months. (* And the rest are just married. BA-DA BOOM!!! But I wanna tell ya…) The reasons people say they want a break from sex:
– They want time to explore personal growth and emotional connection. Respondents cited motivations such as “wanting to learn other forms of intimacy,” and “needing time for the body and mind to catch up,” and prioritizing “emotional closeness over physical connection.”
– The survey found a growing comfort with being single. Among those not in a relationship, 69% said they are content with their current single status, and only 21% are actively seeking a partner.
– Many respondents noted they were “very comfortable with their life,” “waiting for the right one,” or simply “satisfied with the single life.”
– More than half (55%) said they would rather fall in love with life than with another person.
* I tried falling in love with life, but life said they’d rather just be friends.
* Oh, puh-leeze. If you really want other forms of intimacy, leave the bathroom door open.
* These numbers are a little off ’cause a lot of people they called were too busy getting their freak on to take the survey.
* What is “needing time for the body and mind to catch up”? You gotta make time for it. What’s another 90 seconds out of your day, two minutes if you’re drunk?
* This is all because of that COVID shot, isn’t it? It’s taking away all the hormones. I didn’t read that on the internet, but I bet it’s out there.
